above the Yakima River

There's a trail, along the high ridge overlooking the Yakima River, with a glorious view ...

The Yakima River, in eastern Washington, is a world-class destination for catch and release trout fishing.  Generally speaking, walking the Skyline Ridge Trail and fishing aren't done at the same time.

yeah, you'd have to have a REALLY LONG line not to mention a pretty hefty fly to fish the river from the Skyline Trail.

cheryl - my line was constantly snagging in the sage brush.

Altho, even when I WAS standing in the river, I caught the same number of fish as I did from the trail.
