They are the most wonderful creatures. I visited a raptor centre near Toronto last year that habilitates injured birds - just stunning creatures. I love your close encounter!
i was watching Big Fat Gypsy Weddings last night (as one does, when one doesn't have ready access to trailer parks and new episodes of Toddlers & Tiaras) and in one of the weddings, a trained owl swooped in with the rings when it was time for that. oh, and the groom arrived in a helicopter. and the bride's dress was lit up with twinkly lights like a christmas tree.
Janelle - Thank you ... I suspect you've seen an amazing variety of wild animals in your locale.
BPG - Yes, these encounters always are powerful. Thee are several hawks usually circling overhead and one landed and sat still for a few minutes ... it was about 10 feet away from us. That was an amazing moment.
Julia - I can't imagine the scene you've described except I know such things really occur. We are a strange species.

T.Clear - Yes, absolutely a lucky for me moment.
Wow, Bill! That's fantastic. What timing for both you and the owl.
