where's the blog

I apologize for not posting more - but I've been busy fighting local bureaucracy. Since last May it's been an almost constant drain of energy, creative focus and time... god, it's incredible how much time goes into meetings, letters to editors, my other two blogs (created for the battle) ... and just the constant thinking about strategies and other stuff ... fund raising for legal fees, how to get people involved in the issue, how and when to make public statements and anything else I can do to be a community-based activist.

I've put my easel aside and have been using my camera to tell a story - about how a local government department is pushing for a special interests based sports complex to be built in a quiet residential neighborhood.

I totally understand the disenchantment and anger which leads to voter apathy and sometimes I feel like Davy Crockett at the Alamo ... despite knowing you're one of the good guys it doesn't mean the opposition gives a crap about your values and needs.

Our battle continues and I expect sneaky maneuvers from the people who want to fuck over our neighborhood.  They have the power, the back-rooms, they make the rules and we, the citizens, are just people.

At a minimum I know one thing: I’ve stood up to the bastards and I remain a believer in the concept, “We the people”.

Here's a photo of a real tree-hugger - she really likes that tree.

If the county gets their way it will be cut down.

Good for you--sticking to your (one hopes!) metaphorical guns.

It's worth it to stand up for what one thinks and not get pushed around
but sometimes horribly hard work.
All power to you!
